The purpose of whitelisting/verifying your domain is to "translate" a domain name into an appropriate IP address and avoid emails sent from said domain being marked as spam.
DNS (Domain Name System) is similar to an old-school phonebook for the internet. As end-users, we like to view domains by name (e.g., adversus.io), whereas web browsers like to view IP addresses. DNS makes sure to translate domain names to IP addresses for the browser to load internet resources.
To whitelist your domain in Adversus, go to the Messages tab in the main menu and choose Marketing campaigns. From here, continue to the Settings tab and choose whether verify your domain using
- Sender whitelist: Whitelist a single sender email address, eg., firstname.lastname@example.org, or
- Authenticate your domain: Whitelist your entire organization's domain, eg., adversus.io
To verify your domain using Sender whitelist, enter the email address you wish to whitelist and follow the instructions in the email you have received.
To Authenticate your domain, enter the domain you wish to whitelist. Afterward, you will receive a list of DNS records (Type, Host, and Value) for you to set up. You can follow the status of your whitelisting here as well. The status will change from pending to success once it is all set.
